02.03.2015 New Testament: Matt 22.37
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 22.23–46 on February 3, In the year of our Lord 2015

If you had never read the Bible and someone asked you, What is the most important thing in life? What would you have answered? Someone asked Jesus a similar question; hear what He said,
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22.37–38).
The greatest thing you can do in life is to love God with all that you are. How could anyone possibly disagree with the declaration of Jesus? I knew someone about thirty years ago who did that very thing. He argued that defending the truth was the most important thing; he said this even after we read this passage! He liked to debate, and I could see why he answered the way that he did.
Nothing that we do can surpass loving God, for if we love Him, everything else will fall into place that we should do.
