Jesus loved Jerusalem. He wanted to gather her children just as a hen does its chicks, but the city fought Him every step of the way. Therefore, He said to the city,

“See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” (Matthew 23.38–39). 

May no nation, city, church, or person have such words spoken about them by the Lord of heaven and Earth. Yet, truly, many have gone down the path of Jerusalem. Do not let yourself go that way, but follow Jesus with everything that you are and with everything that you have.
