Have you gone tent camping? The tabernacle that Moses and Israel made for God, was nothing like the tent we use for camping. Exodus 38.9–20 describes the court area, and notice the first thing that the text says and the size of the hangings,

Then he made the court on the south side; the hangings of the court were of fine woven linen, one hundred cubits long (Exodus 38.9). 

If the cubit here was 18 inches, then the linen for the side of the court was 150 feet long!
