02.11.2015 Old Testament: Lev 13.38–39
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 13 on February 11, In the year of our Lord 2015

Any Israelite could read the instructions in the Law concerning leprosy even as the priest could, but the priest dedicated himself to this job, and would have received training from older priests, and he would have the experience of having seen more cases than the average Israelite. Therefore, the Lord said,
“If a man or a woman has bright spots on the skin of the body, specifically white bright spots, then the priest shall look; and indeed if the bright spots on the skin of the body are dull white, it is a white spot that grows on the skin. He is clean” (Leviticus 13.38–39).
While both the Israelite and the priest could read the Scripture, the priest would have the added training and experience, and the Lord wanted him to examine the spots.
We should not do religion solo, but we need others in the community of faith to help us along the way, even as Israelites needed the priests.
