Jesus had told His disciples to meet Him on a mountain in Galilee after His resurrection. They went to the appointed place, but had different reactions when they saw Him,
Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted (Matthew 28.16–17).
Some accepted the fact that their Teacher, Jesus of Nazareth, had truly been raised from the dead, but some were not so quick to accept it. Those who did accept it, worshiped Him, and that makes sense, for His resurrection meant that everything He had taught them was the truth, and they could see that He was the Son of God, making Him worthy of worship.
Others held back because they doubted that this was indeed Jesus. However, from the rest of Scripture we learn that those who doubted soon had faith, leading them to risk their lives in proclaiming that Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world.
