The Levites received the tithe of Israel, but did the tribe of Levi work for their income? Let the Lord answer,

“Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting” (Numbers 18.21). 

The Lord called it work. Why do I make this point? Often those who derive their employment income from the church, others say it is charity or something else, but not work. The Levites worked. The Lord worked when He preached. The apostles worked when they preached. Therefore, the Lord tells us to support them financially.
