03.01.2015 New Testament: Mark 8.30
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 8.22–38 on March 1, In the year of our Lord 2015

There is a time to speak, and a time to remain silent. After Peter confessed the Messiahship of Jesus, He warned His disciples not to make it known, at least for the moment,
Then He strictly warned them that they should tell no one about Him (Mark 8.30).
The time approached rapidly when they would announce to the world that Jesus is the Christ, but to do so early would only hasten His death, because the Jewish leaders did not believe Jesus to be the Christ, and they would want to eliminate Him, even as they later did.
He had things to do and to teach before His crucifixion, and He did not want His disciples unknowingly hurting or shortening His ministry.
