03.06.2015 New Testament: Mark 11.17
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 11.1–19 on March 6, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Jesus went to the temple once and found people doing business there, even cheating people in their business dealings. Therefore, He drove them out of the temple. He explained,
“Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves’” (Mark 11.17).
The Lord’s temple is now the church. I do not mean that structure where the people meet to worship, but we are the temple of the Lord. Back then, Jesus found people who used the temple for their own purposes. Does anyone use the church members for their own purposes? How do you view the members of the body of Christ, the living stones in the spiritual temple of God?
