03.14.2015 New Testament: Mark 14.63–64
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 14.51–72 on March 14, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Jesus remained silent for most of His trials before the Jews, but when the high priest asked Him whether He was the Christ, the Son of the Blessed, Jesus could not deny Himself, but had to speak, and affirmed that He was. That was all the high priest wanted to hear,
Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “What further need do we have of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?” And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death (Mark 14.63–64).
The rage within them, led them all to call for the death of the carpenter turned preacher/teacher, Jesus of Nazareth. They had no idea what they were about to do.
