Why did God choose Mary to bring the Christ into the world? Many things must have been involved, but surely Mary’s humility made her a good candidate. See her humility after Gabriel the angel tells her that she will bear the Son of God,

Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her (Luke 1.38). 

Mary did not live for Mary. Mary lived for the Lord. Therefore, whatever He wanted, she wanted.
