03.20.2015 Old Testament: Jos 1.16–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Joshua 1–3 on March 20, In the year of our Lord 2015

A huge job stood before Joshua. Moses had done the job the previous four decades. Now he was gone. Joshua stood in the place of Moses. Would Joshua succeed? The tribes of Israel assured him that they would treat him as they had Moses,
So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses. Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage” (Joshua 1.16–18).
Human leaders are not perfect, but they are whom the Lord of heaven has given us. Therefore, we should be loyal to them, unless they lead us into sin. Let us treat them as we wish to be treated, if we were in the same position.
