Saul did not obey the Lord fully. Therefore, Samuel told Saul that the Lord took the kingdom away from Saul and sought another man who had a heart like God’s.
Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people present with him, about six hundred men (1 Samuel 13.15).
Six hundred fighting men stayed with Saul. 600! Yet, Israel had an army one hundred times that size. During the days of David, the Bible shows the hundreds of thousands he had with him. Disobedience does not pay.
