04.14.2015 Old Testament: 1Sa 15.15–16
To read the Bible in a year, read First Samuel 15–16 on April 14, In the year of our Lord 2015

The Lord told Saul to destroy the Amalekites completely, not taking anything from them, but Saul thought that Israel could use the good stuff,
And Saul said, “They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the Lord your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.” Then Samuel said to Saul, “Be quiet! And I will tell you what the Lord said to me last night.” And he said to him, “Speak on” (1 Samuel 15.15–16).
The Lord said utterly destroy the Amalekites, including everything that they have. Saul said, we could use the best of the sheep and oxen of the Amalekites, and it might be a good idea to save the king also. The Lord by Samuel told Saul to be quiet and hear further what the Lord had to say. Saul had put himself in deep trouble.
Listen, it is better to obey the Lord fully from the beginning, and not to think that the Lord’s plans need our modification. He built the universe. I think He knows what to do when He commands us to do things.
