The world tells us constantly to believe in ourselves, to trust ourselves, but have you noticed that the Holy Spirit never teaches that in the Scriptures? Truly, listen to how Luke introduced one of the parables of Jesus,

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others… (Luke 18.9). 

The Bible always teaches us to believe in and trust the Lord, and not anyone else, including ourselves!
