Preaching the suffering of the Christ leads to our repentance

By Don Ruhl

Just before Jesus returned to heaven, He reminded His eleven disciples that the Scriptures had foretold His suffering, and that they were to go out preaching it,

Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24.46–47).

If we preach the suffering of Christ and His resurrection, it will lead people to repent of their sin, which will lead to the remission or forgiveness of their sins.
