Please do not think that whatever you read of a character in the Bible, that was all there was to their lives. No, the Holy Spirit only chose certain parts of people’s lives to fulfill His purpose for giving us the Scriptures. Thus, of one of the kings of Israel, the Bible says,
Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? (2 Kings 1.18).
Moreover, what the Bible says of the lives of the various people we see in its pages, only comprises a small part of what God knows about each of them, even as He knows everything about us.
