The miracles of Jesus fascinated people, as we can imagine, but that was all they saw in Him,

Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe” (John 4.48). 

They wanted one sign after another, but what they truly needed to do was compare Jesus with the prophecies of the Messiah, then they would have understood who He was.
