How should the Maker of the universe have arrived in Jerusalem? Assume that you do not know the story; how would you have pictured Him entering the city He had chosen? Do you think you would have chosen the following?

Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:

“Fear not, daughter of Zion;
Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

(John 12.14–15) 

The God of heaven is about humility. Otherwise, He never would have visited our little planet.
