06.01.2015 New Testament: John 12.28–30
To read the Bible in a year, read John 12.20–50 on June 1, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Jesus asked the Father to glorify His name, and He did so. Listen to the interpretation that people put on it,
“Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.” Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.” Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake” (John 12.28–30).
Jesus knew why the voice had come, hence, He knew that it was not thunder nor an angel, but the Father Himself. People heard the voice of God the Father that day, enabling them to know the connection between Jesus and the Father!
