Have you known someone who had it all together, but then he aligned himself with a questionable character or even someone downright evil? Perhaps we have all done that at some time or another. Why do we make such alliances? Look at King Jehoshaphat of Judah,

Jehoshaphat had riches and honor in abundance; and by marriage he allied himself with Ahab (2 Chronicles 18.1).

He had what most people want. He had riches and honor in abundance, but then he allied himself with wicked King Ahab of Israel. Why did Jehoshaphat do such a thing? No doubt, if he was here he would give us his reasons, and they might even sound good to us, but the truth is he almost lost life for this alliance.
