06.17.2015 New Testament: Acts 2.34–36
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 2.14–47 on June 17, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Peter compared the prophecies of the Messiah from the Old Testament with the life and death of Jesus of Nazareth, and then concluded with this powerful declaration,
“For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself:
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”’”Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2.34–36).
That sliced right into the hearts of those Jews, for they could see that they had crucified, not merely an innocent man, but the Lord and the Christ.
