07.11.2015 New Testament: Acts 16.31–33
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 16.16–40 on July 11, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Paul and Silas sang and prayed while in prison, and although the guard had fallen asleep, he had evidently heard enough earlier in the night, that when the Lord caused an earthquake that freed all the prisoners, this happened,
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized (Acts 16.31–33).
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, for He is the Ruler of the universe and we will appear before Him at the Judgment. He alone has the ability to save us. The guard continued to listen to the preachers speak, moving him to render assistance to them and then to be baptized into Christ for the remission of his sins.
