What does God think of the wicked?

Psalms Bible Background

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 7–9 on July 12, In the year of our Lord 2014

Does God love everyone? Yes, He does. Does that mean He does not get angry with the wicked? No, in fact Psalm 7 shows that He will take action against them, if they do not repent,

God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
If he does not turn back,
He will sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.
(Psalm 7.11–13)

He is a God of love, but as that first line also declares, He is a God of justice. Therefore, as long as the wicked remain in their condition, they anger Him, especially after all that He does for them.

So then, if the wicked do not turn back, God will sharpen His sword, He will load His arrow and pull the string back, and He will shoot at the wicked. Friends, we do not want to be on the pointy end of God’s sword or fiery arrows.
