The typical behavior of a riotous crowd

Acts Bible Background

07.16.2015 New Testament: Acts 19.32

To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 19.21–41 on July 16, In the year of our Lord 2014

By Don Ruhl

A man stirred up the crowd in Ephesus against Paul, and soon a riot had formed, but most of the people did not even know what they were doing,

Some therefore cried one thing and some another, for the assembly was confused, and most of them did not know why they had come together (Acts 19.32).

People assume that because everyone is doing it, then it must be okay. See, people have been thinking that way for a long time, and not just young people. In this case, a large crowd gathered, but people did not even know why!

Does that ever happen to you? Do you follow the crowd? If not, why do you do the things that you do?
