Bless the Lord while you live

Psalms Bible Background

07.31.2015 Old Testament: Psa 63.4–5

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 62–64 on July 31, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

How do you characterize your life? Do you give your whole soul in praising Him who made you? Listen to the psalmist,

Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
(Psalm 63.4–5)

The Lord was the joy of the life of the psalmist. The psalmist blessed the Lord while living. The psalmist lifted his hands in the name of the Lord. The psalmist found satisfaction for his soul in praising the Lord with joyful lips.

Does that picture you?
