The Lord shows both mercy and justice, forgiving the penitent and punishing the impenitent. How shall the people of the Lord respond to these actions of the God of heaven? Let us do as the psalmist instructed,

I will sing of mercy and justice;
To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.
(Psa 101.1) 

Let us praise Him, singing praises to let everyone know of the goodness and severity of the Lord our God.
