08.24.2015 Old Testament: Psa 121.3–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 121–123 on August 24, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
What good does worry accomplish? Think about it. We worry, because we think that if we do not, then whatever it is that we are worrying about will not happen. Yet, what about when you sleep? Does the world suddenly fall apart until you wake up and put it all back together again? No, of course not. Why then worry? The psalmist assured us,
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
(Psalm 121.3–4)
While we sleep the Lord keeps running the world, just as He did before we came along, and even as He will do when we are gone. Therefore, trust Him to keep you.
