Waiting for the Lord to act

Psalms Bible Background

08.26.2015 Old Testament: Psa 130.5–6

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 128–131 on August 26, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

When you have a horrible night, you cannot wait for the day. You keep looking at the time, you look out the window, you keep hoping that daylight will soon be upon you. Waiting for the Lord can be even more intense,

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.
(Psalm 130.5–6)

Sometimes we wonder whether He will ever act, but He will at the best time. Therefore, we need to keep waiting, looking to Him, knowing that He knows what is best.
