08.27.2015 Old Testament: Psa 132.13–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 132–135 on August 27, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
The Lord made Jerusalem, also known as Zion, His city during the time that Israel occupied the Land of Canaan, but the Holy Spirit says that Mount Zion now is the church (Hebrews 12). Keep that in mind as you read the following,
For the Lord has chosen Zion;
He has desired it for His dwelling place:“This is My resting place forever;
Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
I will abundantly bless her provision;
I will satisfy her poor with bread.
I will also clothe her priests with salvation,
And her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
There I will make the horn of David grow;
I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed.
His enemies I will clothe with shame,
But upon Himself His crown shall flourish.”
(Psalm 132.13–18)
The Lord promised to bless Zion of old, but He does not think less of Zion in the Spirit. No, Jesus died to purchase the church. Therefore, when spiritual Zion marches with Him, He will see to it that it has everything it needs, just as He did long ago for Zion of the Earth.
