09.14.2015 Old Testament: Pro 25.8–10
To read the Bible in a year, read Proverbs 25–27 on September 14, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Some people threaten to sue at the drop of a hat, and others quickly announce on social media their grievance before they have all the facts. Oh that both of these kinds of people would consider the wisdom of Solomon,
Do not go hastily to court;
For what will you do in the end,
When your neighbor has put you to shame?
Debate your case with your neighbor,
And do not disclose the secret to another;
Lest he who hears it expose your shame,
And your reputation be ruined.
(Proverbs 25.8–10)
People who go hastily to court, or who publish things on the Internet without getting all the facts, seek to embarrass someone, but later others question the controversialist and he gets embarrassed.
