10.06.2015 Old Testament: Isa 35.9–10
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 34–36 on October 6, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
The prophets used beautiful pictures to show the wonders of the kingdom that the Lord would establish in the first century. Picture this one,
No lion shall be there,
Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it;
It shall not be found there.
But the redeemed shall walk there,
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
(Isaiah 35.9–10)
There would be people like Paul the apostle, who like a lion tore into the church, but when he saw the truth, he changed radically and became the kingdom’s greatest promoter of peace, just as this passage says.
