What Jesus can do for you; what He wants to do for you more than anything, has nothing to do with this Earth. It has nothing to do with blessing you with material things, although He does bless you materially. What He wants to do for you the most is what He did for Paul,
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life (1 Timothy 1.15–16).
Why did Jesus saved the persecutor of the church? Jesus did it as an example, showing you that if He can forgive someone like Saul of Tarsus, then Jesus can forgive you.
