What would Timothy do while Paul was away? Paul told the young preacher exactly what to do in the letters that we call First and Second Timothy. Consider just this one passage,

Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine (1 Timothy 4.13). 

Timothy, read, encourage the members, and teach. Do you see any reason for any preacher to quit doing those things?
