10.30.2015 New Testament: 2Ti 4.13
To read the Bible in a year, read Second Timothy 4 on October 30, In the year of our Lord 2015
By Don Ruhl
Paul needed Timothy to come as soon as possible, because he not only needed his son in the Gospel, but he needed Timothy to bring somethings,
Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments (2 Timothy 4.13).
Why did Paul leave his cloak with Carpus at Troas? We do not know. Why could Paul not purchase another one? Perhaps he could have, but no doubt he was like us; we have our favorites, and he really liked, and then needed, that cloak.
He also needed the books he left behind, and the parchments in particular. Since you are reading this, you probably know of the pleasure and profit of reading. You can understand why he needed those things.
