The Lord promised that His covenant toward His people was stronger than His covenant with the day and the night. However, some said that the Lord had cast off His people, namely, the descendants of David and the Levites,

Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, “Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which the Lord has chosen, He has also cast them off’? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them” (Jeremiah 33.23–24). 

If the Lord says He will do something, He will do it. If the Lord said, for example, that He would forgive you of your sins, if you repented, He forgave them! Believe in the Lord, therefore, and grow in power as a result.
