Life got rough for the first readers of the Book of Hebrews. However, the writer wanted them to know that Jesus was in heaven, having made it through His trials, and so we can hang on also,

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession (Hebrews 4.14). 

What have you confessed about Jesus? Have you stated that you believe Jesus is the Son of God? If so, the writer said to hold onto that confession no matter what happens in life.
