Hebrews 11 shows the wonders of people we read about elsewhere in the Bible because they had faith. Consider this one,

By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days (Hebrews 11.30). 

The Lord told Israel to march around the city of Jericho once each day for six days, then on the seventh day to march around the city seven times. The children of Israel believed the Lord, did what He said, and the walls came down. That shows the awesome power we have available to us when we live by faith; not that faith itself has the power, but it connects with the all powerful one, the Lord our God.
