Forgetting the Lord’s care early in life leads to backsliding later

Ezekiel Bible Background

11.17.2015 Old Testament: Eze 16.22

To read the Bible in a year, read Ezekiel 16 on November 17, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

The Lord God blessed Jerusalem mightily, but the city used her blessings to follow other lovers other than God, because the city had forgotten the blessings of God, and so He said to her,

“And in all your abominations and acts of harlotry you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, struggling in your blood” (Ezekiel 16.22).

People want God when suffering or struggling through life, but when things get better, people think they can continue to do better away from the Lord. Such abandonment does not go unnoticed by the Lord.
