As long as a heart embraces wickedness, it cannot understand the ways of God, whereas, the ways of God make sense to the wise,

“Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand” (Daniel 12.10). 

I have heard atheists recently question why Jesus had to die for the forgiveness of our sins. They question why doesn’t God just forgive us. They do not understand how He works, but the wise do.
