Evil seems to grow, but the Lord knows everything is that happening

Revelation Bible Background

12.26.2015 New Testament: Rev 17.10–11

To read the Bible in a year, read Revelation 17 on December 26, In the year of our Lord 2015

By Don Ruhl

In Revelation 17, John saw a woman in the wilderness, and from chapter 12 we saw a woman, the Lord’s people, go into the wilderness for safety, but while there, she changed and John next sees her riding a Beast, representing Rome. Of the kings and of the Beast, John learned,

There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition (Revelation 17.10–11).

People read the Book of Revelation and become fearful, but if you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, you should think about something. Who showed John these things? Jesus did. Therefore, Jesus knows the history and the future of the world, and He knows the history and future of the church, and He has everything in control; that is the purpose of the Book of Revelation.

Therefore, do not let it frighten you, but let it encourage you.
