Peter followed the Lord, which meant following the Lord right into Peter’s own home, where Jesus found Peter’s mother-in-law very ill,

Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them (Matthew 8.14–15). 

• Peter had a home, although an evangelist, preacher, and apostle.
• Peter had a wife, disqualifying him from serving as the first pope.
• Peter housed his mother-in-law, showing his belief in family.
• Peter helped his mother-in-law, although she was ill.
• Jesus healed her with a mere touch, showing that He holds the power of life and death.

She served everyone, no doubt showing her gratefulness toward all.
