Esau and Jacob may have been conceived at the same time, making them twins, but that is about all that they had in common, for even in the womb trouble brewed and it came out as they were born,
So when her days were fulfilled for her to give birth, indeed there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red. He was like a hairy garment all over; so they called his name Esau. Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them (Genesis 25.24–26).
Later, nations descended from them, and those nations, although brothers, had serious troubles. However, in Jesus we can all find peace. Jesus brings peace to all who want it, and so He made peace between the Jews, descendants of Jacob, and Gentiles, of which Esau’s descendants were part. Have you made peace with Jesus and have you let His teachings move you to make peace with others?
