People, such as the Pharisees did, become obsessed about preserving their bodies and making sure that everything is pure around them, and that they do not touch anything they consider disgusting, but Jesus revealed,
“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man” (Matthew 15.19–20).
We defile ourselves from the inside out, not from the outside in. What matters most is the heart of man, for it directs what the body does. What then is the condition of your heart?
