When a disciple of Jesus sins against another disciple, the offended party must go through certain motions to save the soul of the sinner. If the offended party follows the instructions of Jesus faithfully, then Jesus said this will happen,

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18.18). 

Heaven supports the church on Earth when the church on Earth obeys Heaven!
