02.07.2016 Old Testament: Lev 3.1
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 1–3 on February 7, In the year of our Lord 2016

Israel had to learn that sacrifices brought to the Lord could not have blemishes, and the world watched Israel doing these things, learning that the Lord required perfect sacrifices. He told Moses,
“When his offering is a sacrifice of a peace offering, if he offers it of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the Lord” (Leviticus 3.1).
However, when we offer ourselves before the Lord, we have countless blemishes in the spirit. This is where Jesus comes in. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice, not having any blemish on His spirit. By His perfect sacrifice we have our blemishes washed away in His blood, and now the Lord accepts us.
