Yes, Jesus came to die on the cross, but He also came to do some other things first, that would lead Him to the cross. One of those things was preaching,

But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons (Mark 1.38–39).

As a preacher, I can tell you that eventually you will get into trouble, for the very nature of preaching requires the preacher to step on people’s toes. Some of them respond by kicking back, or in the case of Jesus, crucifying Him.

That Jesus came to preach shows the high value that heaven puts on preaching. What value do you put on preaching?
