As Jesus began His interpretation of the Parable of the Sower, He pictured the first soil upon which the seed of the Gospel fell, saying,

“And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts” (Mark 4.15).

How many people in the history of the world since the first century, have fulfilled this passage? It must break the Lord’s heart to see people easily give up His word and let Satan take it from them.
