02.23.2016 New Testament: Mark 5.19
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 5.1–20 on February 23, In the year of our Lord 2016
By Don Ruhl
The Lord Jesus told certain men to follow Him during His ministry, but another man, out of whom Jesus had cast out many demons, wanted to follow Jesus also and be with Him constantly, but listen to what happened,
However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you” (Mark 5.19).
Jesus did not want everyone to serve Him as apostles. The Lord Jesus Christ is in charge, and He steers us in the direction where He wants us to work, as with the man in this part of the story, and the man did precisely what the Lord told him to do.
Questions:
- Do you know what the Lord wants you to do?
- Do you know how to find out?
- What has the Lord done for you?
