Why did Jesus only allow certain men to be present for a resurrection?

As Jesus entered the home of a synagogue ruler, the Lord did not want a crowd with Him, but He only allowed three of His disciple to witness the resurrection,

And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James (Mark 5.37).

Why did Jesus exclude everyone, except those three men? Truly, He often had those same three men with Him. Was this unfair to the rest of the apostles? We do not know all the answers, but this we do know: Jesus is Lord. He can do as He pleases.

Questions:

  • Is it acceptable to you that Jesus can do as He pleases, even if that means He excludes you from some things?
  • Is Christianity about you or about the Lord Jesus Christ?
