02.27.2016 Old Testament: Num 18.22
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 18–20 on February 27, In the year of our Lord 2016

We see restrictions as lack of freedom. We question why someone, including the Lord, prohibits us from an activity, failing to see that often it is for our good, as the Lord said about any Israelites coming near the tabernacle,
“Hereafter the children of Israel shall not come near the tabernacle of meeting, lest they bear sin and die” (Numbers 18.22).
Non-levites helped to make the tabernacle and its furnishings, but once the priests sanctified everything, only the priests could go near the tabernacle, enter it, and touch it.
Why did the Lord do it that way? I do not know, but He knows, and He created all things and certainly knows what He is doing.
Questions:
- Do you trust the Lord to command you to do the right things and to keep you from the harmful things?
- Does the Lord know more than we do?
- Does His living in heaven keep Him from knowing the conditions of life on Earth?
